More space is being created for outdoor dining in New Orleans with a citywide pilot program.

New Orleans city leaders and restaurants are celebrating the launch of the Parklet program that helps create more space for outdoor dining.

This comes as restaurants have faced months of restrictions and capacity limits due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Monday the program started at its first site at the Pythian Market.
